Hi, I am Maxwell Froedge, and I am running for the Kentucky 6th District United States Representative. I am running as a write-in candidate. I am unhappy with Geoff Young winning the Democratic primary for 6th District US Representative.
- Geoff Young has run as a Republican in the past.
- Geoff Young has sued the Kentucky Democratic Party.
- Geoff Young has sided with Russia on their horrific invasion of Ukraine.
So, I realized this fall I would have a choice, vote for Geoff Young or abstain. I cannot vote for Garland Hale “Andy” Barr IV after all. So, what to do?
Then my spouse said she would write me in, if I decided to run for US Representative. A while back, the Commonwealth of Kentucky quit allowing anyone to be a write-in candidate without registering; therefore, you now must register as a write-in candidate. So, I’ve decided that I will register and run as a write-in candidate.
I know that neither Geoff Young nor I stand a Snowball’s chance in Hell of beating Garland Hale “Andy” Barr IV in the General Election. You might ask why I insist on listing his full name. Why not? Representative Barr wants to go by Andy Barr and seem relatable, but his actual name is Garland Hale Barr IV.
I am a standard run-of-the-mill liberal.
- I am Pro-choice.
- I do own long guns, but feel that there should be limits.
- I am for equal rights, Medicare for all, etc.
If by some strange arrangement of the stars, I am elected, then I will serve Kentucky, and I will serve no more than 3 terms. (I.E. then I would/could retire). Since I hate paperwork, I am not asking for donations. My budget is < $100. That will keep me well below the $5000 limit after which I would have to file with the FEC (Federal Election Commission). If for some strange reason you want to help my campaign, please set up a PAC (Political Action Committee). This way, you would do the paperwork, and thanks to Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, you can spend as much as you want to promote me. Also, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission is something I would love to overturn via legislation.
One last thing: I think we should increase the size of the US House of Representatives. The UK House of Commons is 650. We have more people than Great Britain, but our House is smaller. The House of Representatives is set at 435. It has not been changed since 1913, except for temporary increases. We need to increase the House in order to give better representation for all our citizens.
